Keyboard Shortcuts

Draft is designed for keyboard-first workflows. Every action can be performed without touching the mouse, keeping you in flow.

Global Shortcuts

These shortcuts work from anywhere on your Mac, in any application:

Voice input

Press and hold the trigger shortcut to activate voice input. Release when you're done speaking—Draft will process immediately.

In the Overlay

When the Draft overlay is open, use these shortcuts:

Customizing Shortcuts

You can customize all global shortcuts to fit your workflow:

Changing the Trigger Shortcut

  1. Click the Draft icon in your menu bar
  2. Select Settings...
  3. Go to the Shortcuts tab
  4. Click on a shortcut field and press your desired key combination

Avoid conflicts

Make sure your custom shortcut doesn't conflict with system shortcuts or other apps. Draft will warn you if it detects a conflict.

Using System Undo

After Draft inserts a result, you can always undo using the standard macOS shortcut:

+ZUndo last change

Undo stack

Draft respects each app's native undo stack. If you undo immediately after a Draft operation, it will revert to your original text.
